NEW LAYER: Builder Development

Major and Minor Residential Builders in the USA. Major Builders symbolized with saturated colors, minor builders symbolized with pastels. Includes large parcels owned by builders or their holding companies as well as completed subdivisions symbolized by the builder.

NEW LAYER: Subdivisions

Builder subdivisions in the USA.

NEW LAYER: Business Hotspots

This layer uses Point of Interest data on recent Business Opening and Closing Dates to identify areas of overall new business growth or decline. In a given area, if recent business openings outpace recent business closures in a statistically significant fashion, the points will be symbolized in red. If business closures significantly outpace openings, they will be symbolized in blue. An area where closures and openings are relatively balanced or stable, the points will be symbolized in gray. Locations that recently closed but are in an area with many openings may be symbolized in red, and vice versa.

This layer makes it easy to visually identify areas of a metro that are experiencing new growth in terms of businesses. Established downtown cores tend to be shown in gray or blue, while new shopping areas accompanying housing growth tend are in red.

Each point represents a business that has either closed down or opened within the past two years, or in some cases, both. These points are a subset of the Points of Interest layer.
